# Puketona Road Pottery

> I've had the wheel going in this shed off Puketona Road since 2016, mostly tableware and the odd big platter when someone asks nicely. Come past if the door's open, it usually is.

Based in 224 Puketona Road, Kerikeri.

## About

I trained under a potter in Nelson for a couple of years before moving up north, and I've been working out of this old packing shed ever since. Everything's stoneware, fired in a gas kiln out the back, glazed in small batches so no two runs come out quite the same. Most of what's on the shelves gets used in kitchens around Kerikeri rather than sitting on mantelpieces, which suits me fine.

## What we do

- **Tableware** — Bowls, mugs, plates, jugs, in rotating glaze runs
- **Platters and serving pieces** — Larger thrown work, made to order most weeks
- **Planters** — Sizes from windowsill to courtyard
- **Commission pieces** — Wedding gifts, house-warming sets, that sort of thing

## Details

- **Clay** Stoneware, hand-thrown on the wheel
- **Glazes** Mixed and tested in the studio
- **Firing** Gas kiln, reduction fired
- **Finish** Food safe, dishwasher safe

## Opening hours

- Wednesday: 10am - 4pm
- Thursday: 10am - 4pm
- Friday: 10am - 4pm
- Saturday: 9am - 1pm
- Sunday to Tuesday: Closed, or by chance if the kiln's going
